110-year mechanical engineering, forging ahead with perseverance. On the afternoon of February 8, 2026, the inaugural meeting of the Mechanical Branch of the Southeast University (SEU) Nanjing Alumni Association was held in the South High Hall of the Mechanical Engineering Building at the Jiulonghu Campus. Distinguished guests attending the meeting included Lin Pinghua, former Vice President of SEU; Ren Zuping, former Assistant to the President of SEU; Zhang Liwu, former Party Secretary of the School; Zhang Zhisheng, former Party Secretary of the School and current Director of the University's Infrastructure Department; Cai Quansheng, Chairman of Jiangsu Bo'en Environmental Protection Group; Teng Hang, Deputy Secretary-General of the SEU Education Foundation; and Li Qing, Vice President and Secretary-General of the SEU Nanjing Alumni Association. More than thirty alumni representatives from the School of Mechanical Engineering residing in Nanjing gathered together to witness this milestone moment. The meeting was presided over by Liu Xiaojun, Associate Dean of the School.
The meeting commenced with the singing of the SEU alma mater song. Li Qing, Vice President and Secretary-General of the SEU Nanjing Alumni Association, read out the official approval document for the establishment of the Mechanical Branch, officially beginning a new journey of unity and common development between the alumni in Nanjing and the alma mater and the School.


The Party Secretary of the School, Wang Jun, presented the preparatory work report for the Mechanical Branch of the Nanjing Alumni Association. The meeting deliberated and voted to approve the Management Measures for the Mechanical Branch of the SEU Nanjing Alumni Association (Draft) and the nomination list for the first council members. It was decided that Lin Pinghua and Ren Zuping would serve as Honorary Presidents; Cai Quansheng as President; Zong Zhenqin, Zhu Lifei, Xu Dehao, Yuan Juntang, and Xie Bin as Vice Presidents; Liu Dong as Secretary-General; and Yin Qifeng, Pi Dawei, Zhu Zhiyong, Chi Yingzi, Wu Bin, Zheng Enlai, Tang Wenlai, Fu Xiaoqiang, and Zang Bo as Deputy Secretaries-General.

Secretary-General Li Qing presented the flag to the Mechanical Branch of the Nanjing Alumni Association, marking the official operation of the branch. Subsequently, Deputy Secretary-General Teng Hang and Secretary-General Li Qing issued appointment letters to the first council members, establishing the governance body of the Mechanical Branch.

In his inaugural speech, Cai Quansheng, the new President of the Mechanical Branch, looked back on his journey from an inexperienced student to an entrepreneur deeply engaged in the real economy. He always keeps in mind the spirit of the School—"seeking truth and pragmatism, striving for excellence"—and expressed deep attachment and gratitude to his alma mater. President Cai stated that the School of Mechanical Engineering is our common root, and Nanjing is our common home. He pledged to use the Mechanical Branch as a platform to unite the strength of alumni in Nanjing and promote alumni work and the School's "Double First-Class" discipline construction.

Fei Qingguo, Dean of the School, reported to the alumni on the School's recent development achievements and future plans. The School will focus on strategic national needs in the mechanical field, advance high-level research platform construction, and optimize talent training systems. He expressed the hope that alumni would continue to participate in the School's development through diverse forms such as project cooperation, academic exchanges, career guidance, and donations, working together to create new glory for the School.

At the meeting, alumni representatives engaged in discussions on topics such as the School's development and the branch's construction. They expressed their intention to deepen cooperation through the Mechanical Branch platform and jointly promote the deep integration of industry, academia, research, and application.

The establishment of the Mechanical Branch of the SEU Nanjing Alumni Association marks a new stage of organization and standardization in connecting mechanical engineering alumni in Nanjing. In the future, the School will use the Mechanical Branch as a bond to continuously deepen collaboration with alumni in Nanjing, carry forward the spirit of SEU, build a solid bridge for university-enterprise and university-local government cooperation, and contribute more SEU wisdom and alumni strength to the development of China's mechanical industry and technological innovation!
